A Simple Introduction

.Several years ago I started to really delve into my family's history and as I found letters and pictures, memories of the lives now long gone began to flood my heart.

With those memories, I started to take note of pieces in my grandparents home that I loved so much as a child because they were a constant to me.  Glassware that we always used at one grandma's home and something totally different at the others homes. Some of these pieces I have managed to collect through the years and some I still look for.  Why bother?  Because sometimes those memories are all you have to hold on to.  Because it's the memories that remind us of where we came from and a sense of belonging somewhere in time.

Life has a way of getting away from us and before we know it, we wake up to find we are at the mid-century level, which is where I find myself today.  Today, I took a step of faith in myself...to reach out in a crazy world and hopefully catch hold of like-minded people.  That maybe in my travel through this life, I can find a little bit of the past for you. Maybe I have found that one special piece you remember from a time that has quickly past for you, too.

I have been blessed to live the life I have, though not always great, always a new journey on the horizon.  Our children need the same opportunity to create long lasting memories.  It isn't in a gameboy or whatever is out there right now, but it is the moments we can spend with them.  Children are smart and they are always watching...always recording.  I believe we need to bring the past into their present for their future memories.  Create an atmosphere like the one created for us so many years ago so that when our grandchildren are older, they will be able to look back with their own memories, and possibly take a walk down "the long road home".

Thank you so much for stopping in and it is my hope you will find something here among my many "rattlings" and the pieces I add as I take my journey back in time.  Maybe it will give you a strong desire to remember the good things of your past.
